The Totaalfestival in Bladel has been working with Pon Energy Rental for more than 25 years to provide power supply. Since the site did not have a permanent grid connection with sufficient capacity, temporary energy was required.
Where previously only diesel generators were used, both parties chose a sustainable approach this year. We introduced a hybrid solution with a powerful mobile battery pack: a container-sized battery that could supply the festival with power for at least 24 hours. When the battery was nearly empty, it was recharged within two hours by a modern Stage V generator, efficient and with minimal emissions.
Thanks to this combination, fuel consumption was reduced by around 66% and CO₂ emissions dropped significantly. The battery pack also operated almost silently and delivered stable power day and night, enhancing comfort across the site.
To make this sustainable story visible, the organization placed the battery in the middle of the festival grounds, turning the technology into part of the experience.
This collaboration demonstrates how technical innovation and shared ambition can contribute to the energy transition in the events industry. Even at locations without a grid connection, sustainable solutions are feasible and reliable.
