Agder Gruppen, a leading supplier in the rental of construction machinery, contacted us because they had a great need for temporary power during the construction of the new E18 highway near Porsgrunn, Norway where a tunnel will be built. Their customer, Eiffage, which is responsible for the development is a French company with extensive expertise in road construction. They won the tender for the construction of the E18 highway in the area, and therefore needed additional construction power.

The road network in Norway needs to be upgraded due to a lack of capacity. The E18 south of Oslo is next and bigger and better highways are being built in and around Porsgrunn. A tunnel is needed on the route, which requires additional power supply. The construction site is dependent on power to operate machinery and equipment, and the equipment is located at Metrostav Norge’s facility at Herregårdsbekken.

Agder Gruppen contacted us on February 3rd and the equipment was in place on February 7th. We delivered 2 x 1500kVA generators with 3000ltr fuel tanks. Due to varying work during the development, the need and load has varied. On June 20, a 3000kVA load bank was installed to load test the machines and to ensure that they deliver the specified power and compensate for low load. It was discovered that the need has changed and a 500kVA generator with a 3000ltr fuel tank was installed on August 18, before one of the 1500kVA generators was returned on August 28. The contract is ongoing, and we are continuously adapting the solution to the need, through good dialog with the customer.
