Sira-Kvina is a power production company that produces renewable energy in 8 hydropower plants, using water from Rogaland and Agder in Norway. They have an annual production of 6800 GWh, which corresponds to approximately 5% of Norway’s entire power production. The company was established on October 4, 1963 and has since then provided innovation and renewable energy production in the industry. In 1976, they were one of the first companies to use a computer-based operations center.

We were contacted by Sira-Kvina on Wednesday, December 6, as they were testing a new emergency power switchboard and performing planned maintenance for a period of 14 days. To maintain operations, they needed a temporary power solution.

On Friday, December 8, a 1250kVA generator and a high-voltage transformer were delivered and connected by our experienced engineers. 170 meters of cable were laid to ensure that all connection points were connected to our temporary power solution.

On Saturday, the solution was operational and the 1250kVA generator has been used to test the new emergency power switchboard. Our generators were adapted for a remote start solution against the customer’s emergency power panel.

The equipment was disconnected on December 21 after testing and maintenance of the system was performed by the customer.
