We are becoming a part of the Zeppelin Group

Zeppelin Group starts integration and transformation phase after successful acquisition of PEPP Group BV

Garching near Munich / Friedrichshafen, June 3, 2025. With the approval of the antitrust authorities, Zeppelin is taking over responsibility for the sales and service of Caterpillar products in Norway and the Netherlands with immediate effect. Previously the Dutch company Pon Holdings was responsible as a Caterpillar dealer in these territories.

  • Zeppelin Group grows to over 12,000 employees
  • Sales increase to over 5 billion euros
  • Active in 29 countries

“The acquisition marks an important milestone in the history of our Group. With the integration of these territories, Zeppelin is further expanding its market position as one of the world’s leading Caterpillar sales and service organizations – for the benefit of our customers, employees and partners worldwide. The transfer of this responsibility is proof of Caterpillar’s great confidence in the performance of our employees and is a great recognition of our work,” says Matthias Benz, CEO of the Zeppelin Group.

Zeppelin is now at the beginning of a transformation and the next stage of the company’s development. The integration and transformation process is focused on a more international orientation, enhanced customer-centricity and a future-proof portfolio. For this reason, there are also structural changes to the organizational structure. Zeppelin organizes its cooperation in four strategic business units (Construction Equipment, Rental, Power Systems, Plant Engineering). From June 2, 2025, the strategic business units “Construction Equipment Germany / Austria” and “Construction Equipment International” will be merged into one SBU Construction Equipment. This will bundle business activities in Central Europe, Eastern Europe & Central Asia as well as Nordics.

A central “Post-Merger Integration (PMI) & Transformation Office” has also been set up to ensure the integration and transformation in a targeted and effective manner. This plays a key role in the integration of new business units and the overarching coordination of all transformation processes.

As a foundation company, Zeppelin thinks and acts for the long term. This creates a reliable base – for sustainable partnerships and for a secure, future-oriented working environment. In addition, the Zeppelin Group has a broad international base and is active in numerous markets. Customers and partners benefit from this through global experience and local proximity – and employees benefit from attractive development opportunities in an international environment.

Part of the upcoming integration are 22 companies of PEPP Group BV in five countries, Norway, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Belgium and France with a portfolio of new and used machines, drive and energy systems, servicing and spare parts as well as solutions for equipment rental and related services. The Zeppelin Group is thus growing by around 2,000 employees and around EUR 1.1 billion in revenue.

“By creating synergies through complementary product portfolios and technologies, we will be able to offer our customers an even broader range of solutions, products and services in the future,” confirms Benz.
