What is Stage V?
Stage V (Regulation 2016/1628) is an EU emissions standard targeting non-road mobile machinery (NRMM) with spark or compression ignition engines. It focuses on reducing particulate matter and harmful emissions. Building on earlier standards, Stage V requires advanced emission control technologies, such as diesel particulate filters, to be implemented in new NRMM.
Our CAT Stage V generators are equipped with AdBlue (DEF) technology, which helps reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions through selective catalytic reduction (SCR). By injecting AdBlue into the exhaust stream, NOx is converted into harmless nitrogen and water vapor, significantly cutting air pollution.
