Klettur, a local Caterpillar dealer in Iceland reached out to us because they had a customer who were in need of back-up power. We have provided VSV who is a fishing company situated in Vestmannaeyjar, a small island on the coast of Iceland with 2X1250kVA generators in back-up. Our generators arrived the 1st of March and they will return back to Norway in the end of April.
The need for back-up power is coming from unstable grid power and limitations in the grid. The undertake is 70% and there are only two gridlines to this island, and one of them is very unstable. Due to a seasonal higher power demand, VSV needed a reliable solution to ensure maximum uptime of the production lines.
The local dealership provided VSV with commissioning and decommissioning, and maintenance of the units after the arrival in Iceland.
